Last night, Dinamo Moscow defeated Zenit Saint Petersburg for the 6th time this season and won the 2021 Men’s CEV Cup in the first-ever all-Russian final of the competition. As the club from the capital of Russia reported, the encounter was spoiled by the extremely unprofessional level of organization of the sporting event of the hosts, Zenit.

Several organized groups of fans (including one consisting entirely of schoolchildren) arrived to support Dinamo in the away match at Sibur Arena. It all started with the behavior of the local security service who was allegedly extremely defiant and aggressive towards these fans, forbidding them to bring flags and banners to their sector in the stands. This security (licensed) was reinforced with some unknown persons with incomprehensible security badges, who were also rude and refused to identify themselves.

During the award ceremony, the Dinamo fan, for which the club stressed to be one of their most prominent fans, ran out onto the court to share the joy of victory with the players. Given this is not allowed by the regulation of the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV), security was obligated to escort him out of the court. Instead, which is visible in the video, several guards started beating the fan. Dinamo stated that medical assistance came to help 20 minutes after the incident for which they blame Zenit as organizers because rules for holding sports and entertainment events clearly say that an ambulance on duty must be present at the facility until the last spectator leaves.

Dinamo added that during the awards ceremony, insulting shouts at their players were heard from the stands.
