For the fourth time in a row, Slovenia Men secured the place in the Top 8 in the continental championship. In the eighth-finals of the CEV EuroVolley 2021, Alberto Giuliani’s players defeated Croatia 3-1 (25-20, 25-18, 19-25, 25-12) in Ostrava, the Czech Republic.

The vice-champion showed some fluctuations in the match, especially in the third set in which Croatia’s Leo Andrić destroyed the rival with five consecutive aces (nine aces in total!) in the finish to turn around the set in the favor of his team. He scored game-high 21 points. However, despite losing the set, the victory of Slovenia was not questionable even for a moment. Klemen Čebulj top-scored the winning side with 13 points. Jan Kozamernik set up four blocks.
