The 2022 CEV Women’s Volleyball Champions League set off – the Russian duo Dinamo Moscow and Lokomotiv Kaliningrad Region confidently started their campaigns.

Russian sides Dinamo Moscow and Lokomotiv Kaliningrad Region confidently started their campaigns in the CEV Champions League Volley 2022 | Women.

Against Ukraine’s SC Prometey Dnipro, Russian champions played as hosts in Minsk, Belarus, by the decision of the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV). However, it didn’t pose a problem for the ’Railwomen’ who swept the team from the country with which Russia has political issues in the Pool A’s encounter. The Pole Malwina Smarzek top-scored Lokomotiv with 16 points. Ekaterina Evdokimova set up five blocks.

The volleyball players of the club from the Russian capital defeated the Czech VK Dukla Liberec with a score of 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-20) in the home match of the first round of Pool C. In the same pool, Poland’s Developres Rzeszów started the duel against Germany’s Dresdner SC with the demolition of rivals (25-10) but ended it with a tie-break. After many ups and downs, the weighing tray of the scale prevailed in favor of the team commanded by Stéphane Antiga, which was top-scored by American Kara Bajema (20 points, including five blocks).

French champion ASPTT Mulhouse VB got off to a good start in Pool B with a 3-1 victory over the Finnish side LP Salo (more known as Viesti). German Kimberly Drewniok tallied 18 points on the winning side.
