Dinamo Moscow defeated THY İstanbul 3-2 (25-23, 16-25, 25-17, 19-25, 15-9) in the away match of the second round of the 2022 CEV Women’s Volleyball Champions League.
From the first rallies of Pool C’s match of the CEV Champions League Volley 2022 | Women against Russia’s Dinamo Moscow, THY demonstrated that they didn’t become the bronze medalist of the Turkish Championship last season by chance. Led by Nataliya Goncharova (25 points), the club from the Russian capital prevailed in a tie-breaker and took the second win in as many games in the competition.
Bulgarian champions VC Maritza Plovdiv ripped off one set from Turkey’s Fenerbahçe Opet İstanbul in Pool D, which only angered their rivals who noted the second win.
In Pool E, Poland’s Grupa Azoty Chemik Police thought Serbia’s ŽOK Ub will surrender very quickly but it was not the case at all. Not only did their opponents claim one set but they were close to taking one more and perhaps pushing the match to the tie-break. However, the Chemik head coach Jacek Nawrocki, who surprisingly left his key player Jovana Brakočević-Canzian on the bench, saw the match was sliding to an unwanted outcome and put Serbian opposite hitter from the third set onward, which had a major influence on his team’s win.
Russian champions Lokomotiv Kaliningrad region scored another convincing victory in Pool A.
