ECH U18 M: Italy defend the title, France surrender after three sets

The Italian team successfully defended its title after winning the CEV U18 Volleyball European Championship – Men in 2020. The competition’s 2022 iteration, which was held from July 9 to July 17, in Tbilisi, Georgia, saw the Italian team repeat their triumph.

The team of head coach Michele Zanini began their quest for the title in Pool II, winning five matches in a row (against Germany, Bulgaria, Poland, Slovenia, and Greece). They then defeated Serbia in three sets to go to the Gold Medal Match, where they faced France and prevailed in three sets as well 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-23).

The Bulgarian players, on the other hand, go home with the Bronze medals, making it to the podium after finishing fourth in 2020. In a real Volleyball thriller, the Young Bulgarian Lions outplayed Serbia in five sets in the Bronze Medal Match.

Tommaso Barott was the best scorer with 16 points, while Lorenzo Magliano contributed with 15 points and Alessandro Bristot with 12 points.

The future belongs to the teams that make the right investments in their youth and teenagers! For a long time, Brazil has not had a say in these categories in the world championships! The Brazilian Federation is even facing difficulties in choosing a coach for its different age groups! A clear example of that is Dalzato, despite the many technical weaknesses! It still continues!
