A. Carraro Imoco Conegliano isn’t the only team that secured a direct berth for the quarterfinals of the CEV Champions League Volley 2023 | Women ahead of the last round of the group stage. Eczacıbaşı Dynavit İstanbul quickly followed.

In one of the last two matches of the fifth round played today, the “Tigers“ took Romania C.S.M. Târgoviște seriously. The win in the away match would secure Eczacıbaşı a top spot in Pool E and an exhibition match of the last round. And that’s what happened. The Istanbul side swept Târgoviște, mostly thanks to Serb Tijana Bošković, who notched 18 points. Simge Şebnem Aköz had 75% reception (12 digs, 50% excellent).

Another Tirkish team was successful today. Fenerbahçe Opet İstanbul beat the home side of Tenerife La Laguna in straight sets. The triumph in Spain had made Pool D the most interesting in view of the last round. This result put three teams in practically equal positions for making it to the playoffs: Fenerbahçe, Stuttgart, and ŁKS. All have 10 points. Anna Lazereva topped the “Yellow Angels“ on the Canary Islands with 20 points. Meliha Diken made 79% of her 41 digs, 43% of which were excellent. German Laura Rodwald scored 14 points for La Laguna.
