The match, hosted at Eurosuole Forum, saw Civitanova dominate in straight sets (25-20, 25-23, 25-23), propelling them to the Quarterfinals as group leaders, with two games still in hand.
Lube Volley displayed grit, especially in the tightly contested last two sets. Anzani and Bottolo were instrumental, the latter’s dynamic play earning him the MVP title. Top scorers Lagumdzija and Yant contributed 15 and 13 points, respectively. VK Lvi Praha, despite a well-coordinated effort by setter Janouch, saw no player hit double figures.
Civitanova opened the match with a comfortable 25-20 first-set win, marked by effective attacks from Lagumdzija and Yant. The second set, a closer affair at 25-23, saw Civitanova struggle initially but recover through Anzani and Bottolo’s significant contributions. The third set mirrored the previous, with Civitanova initially ahead, only to face a Prague comeback. However, Civitanova clinched the set and match at 25-23.
In another Pool E game, Greenyard Maaseik emerged victorious over C.S. Arcada Galati, with a 3-0 win (25-23, 23-25, 25-23, 25-14). Adam Bartos, with 24 points, led Maaseik, closely followed by Jolan Cox’s 21 points. For the Romanian team, Aaro Nikula was the top scorer with 21 points.
