Despite a 1-3 loss in the return match, the Swiss team’s initial 3-1 victory forced a golden set decider, which they clinched 15-13, knocking out the Polish contenders.
Top performers for Neuchatel included Madeline Haynes with 22 points, closely followed by Tia Scambray and Tessa Grubbs, scoring 21 and 19 points respectively, with Scambray also earning MVP honors. For Grot Budowlani, Mackenzie May led with 19 points.
The CEV Cup will see its other finalist decided in a match between Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri and Levallois Paris Saint-Cloud on February 28, following Chieri’s narrow 3-2 home victory in the first leg of their semi-final.
