France claimed a 3-1 victory (22-25, 25-18, 25-16, 28-26) against Bulgaria in the U20 European Championship final, marking their dominance in youth volleyball. Despite dropping the first set, France rebounded with stronger attacks and fewer errors in the following sets.
Bulgaria showcased their defensive prowess early on, winning the first set 25-21 with 6 blocks. France, however, adjusted in the second and third sets, dominating with precise spikes and improved blocking. The final set saw a nail-biting exchange, with both teams vying for control, but France edged out Bulgaria 28-26 to secure the match.
Adrien Roure led France with 19 points, contributing 2 aces and 2 blocks. The win completes a “Grand Slam” for France, as their seniors won Olympic Games, U22 and U18 teams also claimed European titles earlier this year.
Meanwhile, the Czech Republic defeated Ukraine 3-1 to claim the bronze medal.
