The sets ended 25-15, 25-21, and 25-20, with Olympiacos showcasing a solid all-around performance. Key players included Milica Kubura with 17 points (15 attacks, 2 blocks) and Angeliki-Melina Emmanouilidou with 11 points (80% in attack, 4 attacks, 2 aces, 5 blocks). The team’s strong blocking game contributed significantly, earning 12 points, while they capitalized on 16 opponent errors.
Lugoj struggled to keep up, with their top scorer Tamara Miljević tallying 15 points.
In the second leg on December 11 in Romania, Olympiacos needs just two sets to secure their spot in the quarterfinals, where they will face either Switzerland’s Pfeffingen or Turkey’s Galatasaray. If Lugoj hopes to advance, they must win 3-0 or 3-1 to force a decisive golden set.
