Asseco Resovia Rzeszów is just one step away from repeating last year’s triumph in the CEV Cup! The Polish team secured a spot in the final after a dominant 3-0 win over Tours VB in the second leg of the semifinals. Despite a tough challenge in the first match, Resovia showed its strength in France, sweeping the hosts in straight sets.
The victory came with a setback, as star player Bartosz Bednorz suffered an injury late in the second set. The outside hitter, who had been in top form, was forced to leave the court, replaced by Lukas Vasina. Despite this blow, Resovia held firm and closed out the match with a 25-22 win in the third set.
Now, the reigning champions will face Ziraat Bankasi Ankara in the final. The Turkish side pulled off a surprise by eliminating Itas Trentino. The first leg of the final is expected to take place on April 2, as Resovia looks to defend its title.
