Playing at home in Castelnau-le-Lez, the French side controlled the match with strong blocking and steady serving, setting the tone early and never allowing Leuven to gain momentum. The opening set was closely contested, but Montpellier’s composure at the net helped them edge it 25–22.

From there, the hosts took charge. Improved pressure from the service line and solid defensive organisation saw Montpellier pull clear in the second set, which they closed 25–18. Leuven fought harder in the third, but Montpellier’s efficiency proved decisive again, sealing the sweep 25–20 in just over an hour.

Ezequiel Palacios led the way with 14 points and was named MVP, while Vincent Mathias added 13. Adrián Olalla Gómez topped Leuven’s scoring with 11.

The win boosts Montpellier’s position in Pool E, while Leuven continue to gain experience in their first Champions League campaign.
