Serbia captain Tijana Boskovic and head coach Zoran Terzic delivered candid assessments after Türkiye’s 3-0 EuroVolley semifinal victory, admitting their team failed to produce the level expected in a match of such importance.

Boskovic said the result reflected Serbia’s performance and acknowledged that very little worked as planned.

“We simply did not show what we wanted on the court,” she said, adding that she was also disappointed with her own display. Despite the defeat, Boskovic stressed that Serbia must quickly recover and focus on the bronze-medal match.

She described the next game as the most important one remaining in the tournament, saying the team must put the semifinal behind them and fight to leave the championship with a medal.

Terzic was even more critical, calling Serbia’s performance a major disappointment and taking responsibility for the team’s psychological preparation.

He said Serbia looked tense from the opening points and never managed to establish their usual game. The coach also highlighted weak serving and reception as key problems, noting that Türkiye were allowed to play too comfortably.

Terzic rejected the idea that Boskovic was expected to carry the team alone, saying no player can decide a semifinal of this level without support from the rest of the squad.

Türkiye captain Eda Erdem, meanwhile, praised the home crowd and her team’s defensive work. She said Türkiye’s block and defence disrupted Serbia’s rhythm and forced them into changes.
