Slovenia captain Tine Urnaut will miss the remainder of the European Championship after suffering a foot injury during the match against Czechia.

Medical examinations confirmed that Urnaut will be unable to continue in the tournament, forcing head coach Fabio Soli to make a change to his squad. Experienced outside hitter Klemen Čebulj has been called up as his replacement.
The 34-year-old has already left his club’s preseason camp in Rzeszów, Poland, and is expected to join Slovenia soon. Čebulj, who has made 213 appearances for the national team, last represented Slovenia at the Paris Olympic Games before taking a break from international duty.
Čebulj’s return provides Slovenia with an experienced option for the knockout stage as the team adjusts to the loss of its captain.
