On January 10, 2017 players of Telekom BAKU will be hosting Poland’s reigning national champions Chemik POLICE for the second round of action in Pool A.

Telekom head coach Zoran Gajic said: “This season we have many young, but promising players that we can rely on. Yet we have a few experienced players in our roster who will strengthen our team to a great extent. This season our goal is to develop the young members of our roster through a number of matches in the Champions League and to prepare high-level players for Azerbaijan’s national team. As for the teams in Pool A, we find ourselves among very strong opponents: two strong Italian teams, CONEGLIANO and MODENA, plus Chemik POLICE, one of the leaders when it comes to Polish women’s Volleyball.”

Gajic continued: “Our first away match with Imoco Volley CONEGLIANO proved that Telekom players have some perspectives – since we led 18-12 in the first set – but their lack of experience at this level prevented us from winning that set. As a result, the Italian team won in three sets. In terms of our expectations for our campaign in the 2017 CEV Volleyball Champions League, we look forward to showing a nice game and achieving the best possible result.”
