Two rounds before the end of pool stage of the 2017 CEV Women’s Volleyball European League, the dilemma regarding the fourth and last participant of the Final Four has been removed.

Ukrainian National Team joined Finland and Spain (all three as ledears of their pools) and Slovakia (the best second-ranked team) in the Final Four of the tournament which is established as the European counterpart of the FIVB World Grand Prix.

Ukraine secured their berth in the F4 by beating direct rivals for this, Montenegro, in the fourth round of Pool B (first round of Week 2), in the city of Rezé, France, 3-0 (25-11, 25-12, 25-15). Racing Club Cannes receiver Nadiia Kodola, representing Ukraine, was the best scorer of the game with 15 points.

Interestingly, despite the fact they could have a chance to advance to the Final Four as pool leaders or, at least, as the best second-ranked team, France are not able to continue their journey in the European League due to the fact their further participation (if they qualify to the F4) overlaps with their playing in the 2017 FIVB World Grand Prix!
