After surprising win of 3-0 (27-25, 25-18, 25-20) against reigning European champions Russia, Turkey will face Serbia in the semifinal, their fourth in the history. The interesting thing is that two years ago this two teams played in a match for the bronze medal when Serbia won 3-0.

Today, after 87 minutes the team of coach Giovanni Guidetti crushed Russia, who during the match had a problem with the reception. Turkey put 10 aces and at the same time made 10 blocks.

The top scorer of the match was Meryem Boz who scored 23 points for the winning team while Nataliya Goncharova with 18 points was the top scorer in the Russian team.

Recall that Turkey barely passed the Pool C. They were third with only one win in the last match against Ukraine. In the playoff match they defeated Poland 3-1 and now in quarterfinal crushed Russia and came in that position to fight for the final.
