CL M: ACH Volley, Omonia and Shakhtior schedule duels with giants as they all book ticket for Qualification finals

ACH Volley vs. Mladost Brcko

ACH Volley, the Slovenian titleholders (Jan Pokeršnik scored 12 points) achieved another straight-set victory over OK Mladost Brčko from Bosnia and Herzegovina to face Lokomotiv Novosibirsk from Russia in the 3rd round of the Qualifiers.

The Cypriot champions Omonia claimed two sets, which they needed to secure a berth in the 3rd round of the Qualification, in the second leg against Montenegrin side Jedinstvo Bemax Bijelo Polje. But, Omonia had to work hard for this when hosts leveled at 1-1 in sets. The French veteran Mory Sidibé showed their employers exactly why he has been brought for to Omonia for their debut season in the Champions League as he scored 23 points. In order to join one of the pools in the main stage of the tournament, the Cypriot club will have to eliminate the Polish Jastrzębski Węgiel.

Shakhtior, the Belarusian representatives, broke the resistance of the Israeli side Maccabi Tel-Aviv in three sets but each one was highly competitive. Still, the scenario from the first leg when a tie-break was played and in which Maccabi prevailed, was avoided, and Shakhtior advanced to the 3rd round. Next stop for them is going to be neither more nor less but Sir Safety Conad Perugia from Italy! Uladzimir Zhyhmont topped the club from Belarus with 23 points.
