Arkas-vs-Trentino
By beating Arkas İzmir on the road in Turkey, 3-1 (22-25, 25-9, 25-17, 25-17), the Italian side Diatec Trentino climbed to the top spot in Pool E and are very close to securing the spot in the Playoffs 12. Thanks to 14 kill blocks as a team and 18 points from Serbian Uroš Kovačević, Trentino outplayed Arkas, who remained nailed down to the bottom of the standings, saying goodbye to the elimination stage. The Cuban Michael Sánchet Bozhulev delivered 13 points for Arkas.
Despite playing at the packed Turun Palloiluhalli in Turku (2,500 spectators), who hosted the first-ever European cup volleyball match and in which they moved for this match from their VeXve Arena, Ford Store Levoranta Sastamala from Finland suffered a defeat to the Turkish titleholders Halkbank Ankara in Pool B. The Serbian Nemanja Petrić topped Halkbank with 18 points. The Swedish Erik Sundberg made 10 points for Sastamala, who lost their chances for the Playoffs 12.
