GOLDEN EL W: Azerbaijan outplayed Bulgaria while Finland were better than Croatia

Azerbaijan and Finland surprised their opponents in the Leg 4 of the Golden European League 2018 for Women.

POOL A

Azerbaijan – Bulgaria 3-1 (25-20, 23-25, 25-21, 25-21)

Azerbaijan revenged for the defeat to Bulgaria. Today in Baku the host celebrated the new win and now have 3-1 just as Bulgaria. Katerina Zhidkova was the best scorer of the match with 20 points while Yelizaveta Samadova added 18 points. Gergana Dimitrova was Bulgaria’s top scorer with 17 points.

Ukraine – Portugal 3-1 (25-18, 24-26, 25-15, 25-19)

Ukraine scored the second victory in Pool but also the second against Portugal. Nadiia Kodola was the main scorer of the winning team, she added 19 points for Ukraine.

POOL B

Finland – Croatia 3-1 (25-18, 24-26, 25-15, 25-19)

Finland scored their third win in the Golden European League but they are still on the second place. Important thing is that they defeated Croatia and took the revenge for the last loss. The opposite Piia Korhonen scored 23 points for Finland and she was the best scorer of the match.

France – Hungary 0-3 (23-25, 18-25, 19-25)

Hungary continued with good plays. They scored the third victory and remains of the top. In a new match, they defeated France in straight sets. 

POOL C

Slovakia – Czech Republic 1-3 (25-16, 16-25, 23-25, 18-25)

The Chezch Republic continued with their lead in Pool C after they scored their fourth win out of four matches. On the other side, Slovakia won their third set in the competition and remain without a victory.

Michaela Mlejnkova with 21 points led the winning team while Nikola Radosova scored 24 points for Slovakia.

Spain – Belarus 0-3 (23-25, 25-21, 22-25, 25-19, 9-15)
