In the first semifinal match, Greece defeated France in the tie-break although the French team led 2-1 in sets.
After 121 minutes of play, Greece scored victory thanks to Anthi Vasilantonaki who scored 18 points and Evangelia Mertreki 17 points.
On the French side, captain Juliette Fidon once again was the best scorer with 24 points followed by Helena Cazaute 18 points.
France will play for the bronze medal against Turkey who suffered defeat from Croatia in the second semifinal match.
Just like in the first semis, the second was also finished after five sets. Turkey led 2-1 when Croatia equalized on 2-2. In the tie-break, Turkish team played well from the beginning, led three points 7-4 when Croatia made a turnover and deservedly won the match with 3-2.
Again Samanta Fabris (25) and Martina Šamadan (12) led the winning team while Tugba Senoglu (18) and Melis Durul (16) were best in the opponent’s side.
