“I have always loved to play with the Russian team. 90% of my career passed in this country. I like to be on the court with friends and coaches. I have already talked with the boys from Zenit on this subject. They still do not know what will be the composition of Russia, who will be the coach. The new coach may have new ideas, so now there are many unknowns” said Salparov for R-sport and added:
“In the National team of Bulgaria I play 15 years. We met with Russia every year, or at least every other year. There have been times in which we played harder and we won. According to statistics from the last 37 games, Russia won 28, while Bulgaria has only 9 wins. In any case it will be an emotional match” said Salparov .
