A 29-year-old Horváth, one of the best Hungarian Women’s volleyball players in the last decade, decided to retire.
“It was a difficult decision, but my heart is clean, I feel that the time has come. I need a rest and I want to spend more time with my family. I’m getting married in the fall and then I want to focus on the family,” Horváth, who collected 93 caps with Hungarian NT, said to the website of the national federation.
She finished her 22-year-long career in style, by winning European trophy, the 2017 CEV Challenge Cup with Turkish side Bursa Büyükşehir Belediyespor.
Bursa was the 10th club where she played during her career, of which seven were foreign.
Also, trophy with Bursa was the second in her career. First one came with the national team – in the CEV European League in 2015.
