Kovač successful at his debut, Slovenia beat Iran

Slovenia defeated Iran 3-2 (25:18, 22:25, 21:25, 25:13, 15:12) in a friendly match played in Hoče (Slovenia).



It was the first preparation match for both teams in 2017, while it was also the debut of Slobodan Kovač as the head coach of Slovenia. His team was successful, as they defeated Iran after a tie-break.

Alen Šket was the top scorer in the winning team with 16 points, Tonček Stern made 11 points, while Tine Urnaut added 10 points.

On the other side, Mojtaba Mirzajanpour made 17 points, Milad Ebadipour stopped at 8, while Amir Ghafour and Seyed Mousavi scored 7 points each.

Slovenia and Iran will play another friendly match on Monday, while that game will be played in Ljubljana.
