FRIENDLIES M: Galatasaray win Istanbul tournament, Resovia and UPCN too weak for Ukrainian Lokomotiv

The Turkish Men’s volleyball team Galatasaray İstanbul finished first in the international tournament held within their facilities despite losing to the Iranian Super League side Kalleh Mazandaran 3-1 (16-25, 25-20, 25-15, 25-23) in the last round.

Previously, Galatasaray beat Turkish top division Efeler Ligi rookies Jeopark Kula Belediye 3-1 and Bulgarian Neftohimik 2010 Burgas 3-0.

 

Italian Serie A1 team Wixo LPR Piacenza defeated Division 2 (Serie A2) participants Conad Reggio Emilia 4-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-21, 25-18) thanks to 26 points from the Cameroonian newcomer Yvan Kody. On the other side, former Azimut Modena player Samuel Onwuelo scored 19.

The Ukrainian titleholders Lokomotiv Kharkiv conquered the Cup of the Mayor of the City of Krosno, in Poland, in front of the Polish PlusLiga team Asseco Resovia Rzeszów, Italian Gi Group Monza, and Argentinian runners-up UPCN San Juan Vóley.

The Polish PlusLiga club Espadon Szczecin won the tournament in Kozienice (Poland) by beating all rivals (all from PlusLiga), Aluron Virtu Warta Zawiercie, Cerrad Czarni Radom and Dafi Społem Kielce (Ex-Effector Kielce), by a 3-1.
