WCH 2018 M: Russia win five-sets thriller vs. Italy to stay in the race

by WoV

The Italian fans don't need to worry, as their team have already advanced to the Final Six tournament.

Russia - Italy

Russia – Italy

Italy have opened the game by taking the first, playing very good in defense and in the attack. Russia were under the pressure, however, in the second set, they showed much more, tying the game in sets 1:1.

In the third, Russia continued performing well and it helped them take the lead in sets 2-1! The Italian boys didn’t want to see this game finish in four sets, so they forced the tie-break by controlling the situation in the fourth set.

The tie-break has brought many ups and downs but since the Russians needed this victory so bad, they managed to it to keep the chances of reaching the Final Six!

The mad Max (Maxim Mikhailov) led the Russians with 18 points, while Dmitry Muserskiy had 15. In Italy, Ivan Zaytsev scored 21, Juantorena had 16.
