WCH 2018 W: USA beat Azerbaijan in their first match in Pool C

The team of USA successfully started their defense of the Women’s World Championship with a hard-fought 3-0 victory over Azerbaijan.

The Americans saved five set points in the opening set and after that, they easily finished the match.

Kimberly Hill was the best scorer of the winning team with 12 points followed by Jordan Larson-Burbach and Kelly Murphy who scored 11 points each. On Azerbaijan’s side but also the top scorer of the match was Polina Rahimova with 23 points including 4 aces.

Brazil – Puerto Rico 3-0 (27-25, 25-12, 25-7)
