WCH 2018 W: Italy too strong for Cuba

After a free day, Italy returned to the court and won another victory in Pool B at the FIVB World Championship.

Today, Italy were too strong for Cuba who couldn’t pass the opponent’s block (11 bl).

Paola Egonu was the top scorer with 15 points while Anna Danesi scored 1 1points. On the Cuban side, Ailama Cese Montalvo and Jessca Aguilera Carbajal were the best with 9 points each.

Italian team played how much they need for the victory but also to prepare for the two last matches in the Pool against Turkey and China.

Italian coach Davide Mazzanti: “Today, our aim was to get a good result and we were able to do that, so I am satisfied. We were focused on the stable play; it was not easy but we were able to win. Our goal is to get to the Final 6.
