Miyu Nagaoka guided Japan to a 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-11) win over Cameroon at the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship on Wednesday, scoring 20 points as Kumi Nakada’s side picked up their third straight-sets win of the competition.
Japan’s Pool A commitments conclude against Germany on Thursday, when Cameroon will also be in action against Argentina.
Natalia Pereira registered a match-high 12 points as Brazil downed Kenya 3-0 (25-13, 25-10, 25-16) in Pool D action at the FIVB Women’s World Championship on Wednesday night.
Emmaculate Chemtai was the high scorer for Kenya with nine points in the defeat. Brazil entered the match with a 2-1 record and coming off a resounding 3-0 loss to Serbia.
Kenya came in at 1-2 with a victory over Kazakhstan in their opening match.
The Brazilians displayed all of their significant skills on serve, block and attack in the win, while using several reserve players.
