WCH 2018 W: Netherlands and China finished their matches in straight sets

by WoV

The Netherlands are still undefeated in Pool E while China are still fighting for the better position in Pool F at the FIVB World Championship.

The Dutch team

The Dutch team

Today, the Dutch team defeated the Dominican Republic in three sets (25-19, 25-16, 25-14) and Lonneke Sloetjes scored a match-high 23 points while Anne Buijs finished with 13 points. On the Dominican side, Yonkaira Pena scored 10 points and Eve Mejia 7 points.

The Dutch attack proved too much for the Dominicans on this day as they passed and set the ball with fluidity. They also did well on reception and counterattack.

The Dominican Republic was unable to mount a challenge or get together a run of several points throughout the contest.
