Both, the Czech Republic and Canada swept their rivals in the semifinals and will play the final match whose winners will replace Bulgaria in the next edition of the VNL.
The Czech Republic beat Argentina by a 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-23) but lost their starting outside hitter Andrea Kossanyiová who sprained her ankle while awkwardly landing in the third set. Gabriela Orvošová top-scored for the winning side with 14 points, while Veronika Trnková made 4 kill blocks. Erika Mercado noted 13 points for Argentina.
Led by their top scorer in the tournament Alexa Gray (17 points), Canada downed Croatia by a 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 26-24). Samanta Fabris also scored 17 points, but for Croatia who made twice as many unforced errors as their rivals (26).
