They defeated Kazakhstan quickly in three sets 25-17, 25-10, 25-10.
“I like what we did. Our focus was on our side of the net. There were some unknowns – we didn’t know much about this Kazakhstan team. We learned and got better as we went. They battled early, and then we eventually wore them down with some very good serving. Tonight we were taking pride in being good on our side of the net, focusing on our things and I think we did a nice job in that,” says Karch Kiraly, the head coach of the United States.
Bulgaria have also scored an important win, beating Argentina in four sets. Elitsa Vasileva was the best scorer with 18 points, while Yaz Nizetich had 16 points on the other side.
