The European champions Igor Gorgonzola Novara risked a lot by allowing the reigning Club World Championship titleholders VakıfBank Istanbul to return from a two-set deficit in Round 2 of this year’s edition of a tournament but eventually recorded a win: 3-2 (25-21, 25-22, 25-27, 24-26, 15-12). This result, along with the result of other Pool B match, secured a spot in the semis to the Italian side. Serbian opposite hitter Jovana Brakočević chipped in with 30 points for Novara, while American Micha Hancock served 5 aces. The Swede Isabelle Haak scored 29 points for VakıfBank, while Zehra Güneş made 7 of the team’s 18 kill blocks.
As for the remaining encounter of Day 2, Chinese Tianjin Bohai Bank rejected comeback of Dentil Praia Clube of Brazil (3-2) and eliminated them from the semifinals. Li Yingying was the most deserving player for the win of Tianjin as she poured in 23 points. Dominican international Brayelin Martínez scored 24 points for Praia.
In the last round, Tianjin and VakıfBank will fight for the last vacant spot in Pool B that secures a presence in the semis.

Brakočević should join Serbian team
Re: @Petar
She quit the national team to spend more time with her son if I remember correctly. It was never an issue of quality, she is still a top player.
Re: @1 Correct, and more importantly, Boskovic, the best opposite in a world plays for Serbia. Hence Brakocevic decided to quit national team instead of sitting on the bench
Zhu Ting hurt her wrist and went out of the match leading 2-0. She is not expected to play the next match vs VakifBank.
