The second Italian-Turkish semifinal clash in the 2019 Club World Championship ended in the tie-break, too. This time it was the Turkish side that prevailed – Eczacıbaşı VitrA Istanbul defeated European champions Igor Gorgonzola Novara and will face Imoco Volley Conegliano in the final, tomorrow at 13:00 CET.
The Italian team has surrendered to the attacks of the 2019 EuroVolley MVP Tijana Bošković. Serbian opposite hitter poured in 31 points. Eczacıbaşı had another mighty weapon today – block. They made as many as 20 kill blocks of which Beyza Arıcı made 6. Bošković’s compatriot Jovana Brakočević top-scored for Novara with 26 points, while Cristina Chirichella set up 5 kill blocks.
