European champions Cucine Lube Civitanova will play their third successive Club World Championship final. They swept the Qatari side and also Asian champions, Al-Rayyan Sports Club, by a 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-23) and will play a home team of Sada Cruzeiro Vôlei for the gold medal.
Cuban-born Yoandy Leal led Lube with 18 points and was the only double-digit player on the Italian side. Portuguese Marco Ferreira scored 10 points for Al-Rayyan. Iranian opposite Amir Ghafour debuted for Lube in the competition because he had just recovered from an injury but he played only the first set.
