Panasonic Panthers didn’t feel the bitterness of a defeat in the 2019/20 Japanese Men’s Volleyball Championship regular season for eight successive games.

The underdogs Toray Arrows provided a huge resistance to the Panasonic Panthers in Round 13 of the 2019/20 V.League Division 1 Men regular season but didn’t manage to break rival’s eight-game winning streak. Thanks to Kunihiro Shimizu (20 points) and Akihiro Yamauchi (5 kill blocks), the champions won in the tie-break and reached 12-1 and 35 points to stay on top of the charts.

The second-placed JTEKT Stings have the same win-loss ratio and number of collected points as the Panthers after recording the fifth victory in a row (3-0 vs. VC Nagano Tridents).

With a straight-set win over Ōita Miyoshi Weisse Adler, the JT Thunders Hiroshima wrote down the sixth successive win and came in third in the standings, having 11-2 and 31 points.
