Imoco Volley Conegliano defeated Turkish side Eczacıbaşı VitrA Istanbul in the final of the 2019 FIVB Club World Championship in Shaoxing, China, to win the first-ever world title! Italy waited for 27 years for some team to repeat the success of Teodora Ravenna (currently compete under the name Conad Olimpia Teodora Ravenna in the second division) who beat Itambé Minas in the final in Jesi in 1992.
The team coached by Daniele Santarelli finished the competition with a perfect record (5-5) and with a victory in their first-ever final: 3-1 (22-25, 25-14, 25-19, 25-21). Imoco were driven to claiming already the second trophy of the season, after having raised the national Super Cup, by gigantic Paola Egonu. She scored game-high 33 points, while Serbian Tijana Bošković tallied 24 for Eczacıbaşı.
