In Round 9 of the 2019/20 PlusLiga regular season, ZAKSA recorded a hard-fought victory over Trefl to stay at the top of the charts with a two-point lead in relation to the vice-leaders Jastrzębski Węgiel. The biggest revelation this season who made a five-game winning run prior to the match, Trefl, resisted for three sets. An intense battle was especially seen in the third set that lasted for 41 minutes. Ultimately, the experience of the Polish champions prevailed. Aleksander Śliwka top-scored for ZAKSA with 24 points (79.3% attack, 23/29). Bartosz Filipiak tallied 22 points for Trefl.
PGE Skra Bełchatów, whose every win has been cut with a defeat in the next game, swept Aluron Virtu CMC Zawiercie.
