France earned itself a second consecutive straight-set win in the 2021 FIVB Men’s Volleyball Nations League.
The day after making a straight-set victory against Iran, France once again swept its rival – on the penultimate day of the 2021 Men’s VNL – Argentina. Partially, it was 26 -24, 25-21, and 25-22. ‘Les Bleus’ will play for the qualification for the Final Four against Poland, who already booked a place in the semis, in the last round. Jean Patry was France’s top scorer today with 14 points. Jénia Grebennikov made 71.4 % digs (12/14).
Italy made Russia’s chances of progressing to the Final Four smaller by forcing it to play five sets and thus, ripping off one point from ‘Zbornaya’. Dmitriy Volkov stood out in Russia with 16 points.
Ahead of the last round, four teams are in contention for the remained two slots in the semis. Slovenia is in the best position, having 11 wins and 3 defeats. France, Russia, and Serbia are at 10-4 each.
