WCH U21 M: Russia, Italy and Poland secured places in the semifinals of the U21 World Championship, one place remains open

After a 3-0 victory over Brazil (27-25, 25-21, 31-29), Russia became the first team to secure a place in the semifinals of the U21 World Championship. From Pool F, the other semifinalist will be Poland after beating Bulgaria 3-2 (21-25, 23-25, 25-22, 25-22, 15-12) in a dramatic match. Bulgaria led 2-0, but Poland managed to turn around and win. In today’s match, Poland will play against Russia and determine the final standings in pool F.

In Pool E, Italy defeated Czech Republic 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-15) and Argentina beat Belgium 3-1 (25-21, 23-25, 25-19, 25-21). Italy is mathematically first, while the last semifinalist and second-placed team will be known after a direct clash between Argentina and the Czech Republic.
