FIVB releases dates of VNL tournaments in 2023 and 2024

The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has announced the dates of the 5th edition of the Volleyball Nations League (VNL 2023) and the 6th edition (VNL 2024) in both competitions.

The FIVB announced the dates of the Volleyball Nations League in 2023 and 2024, explaining that it has set them this early so that the candidates for the organization of the tournaments have enough time to prepare. It has been said that the hosts of the VNL 2023 tournament for both men and women will be announced after the end of the VNL 2022. National federations can send their candidacies for the organization until April 29.

In the Women’s VNL 2023, the 1st-week tournament will be played from May 30 to June 4, the 2nd-week tournament on June 13-18, and the 3rd-week from June 27 to July 2. The final tournament will take place on July 12-16, 2023. In the men’s competition, the VNL 2023 will be played from June 6 to July 23. The matches of the 1st week are on the program on June 6-11, the 2nd week on June 20-25, and the 3rd week on July 4-9. The final tournament is scheduled for July 19-23.

The VNL 2024 in the women’s competition will be played from May 14 to June 23. The matches of the 1st week will be played on May 14-19, the 2nd week from May 28 to June 2, and the 3rd week on June 11-16. The final tournament is scheduled for June 20-23. In the men’s competition, the first week is on the program on May 21-26, the second on June 4-9, and the third on June 18-23. The final tournament will take place on June 27-30.

The new format of the Volleyball Nations League predicts that two groups with 8 teams are formed for each weekend, as well as that the competition lasts 6 days within one weekend, from Tuesday to Sunday. Each national team will play 12 matches during 3 weekends, or 4 matches in 6 days during one weekend. The 8 national teams will play in the final tournaments, starting from the quarter-finals.
