Volleyball World and The Sports Consultancy Kickstart Bidding for FIVB 2025 and 2027 World Championships Host Cities

Volleyball World and The Sports Consultancy have launched the search for hosts for the FIVB Men’s and Women’s World Championships in 2025 and 2027. The move comes amidst increased interest and value attached to the World Championships, prompting the partners to devise an innovative and collaborative bidding process.

The call for host city candidates was announced on 1 August 2023, with all 222 National Federations invited to join. The invitation also extends to event organisers and cities, with expressions of interest to be submitted by 31 August 2023.

Taking place from August to October, the FIVB World Championships draw 32 nations to engage in fierce competition over 17 exhilarating days. Past hosts, including the Netherlands, Poland, Japan, Italy, Germany, and Slovenia, have reported a financial impact up to 150 million EUR, with a surge of local and international visitors boosting cultural exchange.

Finn Taylor, Volleyball World CEO, expressed his excitement about the venture with The Sports Consultancy. He emphasized the economic and social benefits of hosting the Championships, assuring confidence in finding passionate cities to elevate the event’s status.

Echoing the sentiments, Robert Datnow, Co-Founder and Managing Director of The Sports Consultancy, expressed delight in continuing their partnership with Volleyball World. He highlighted their track record of securing over 160 host cities for renowned events in the past 17 years, hoping to bring their experience to bear in selecting host cities for the FIVB World Championships in 2025 and 2027.
