Italy’s attack was led by outside hitter Alessandro Michieletto, who scored 14 points, including crucial points to seal the match. Opposite Yuri Romanò and middle blocker Roberto Russo added 13 and 11 points respectively. Germany’s top performer, Christian Fromm, registered 13 points, but it wasn’t enough to challenge the dominant Italians.
