Japan wrapped up Week 2 of the Volleyball Nations League in style, sweeping Slovenia 3-0 (27-25, 25-15, 25-16) and jumping back to third in the standings with a 5-3 record and 15 points.

Kento Miyaura led the charge with 17 points, while Tatsunori Otsuka and Shoma Tomita added 15 and 13, respectively. After a tight first set, Japan controlled the match, closing with confidence and precision.

Slovenia, now on a three-match losing streak, dropped to 10th place. Nik Mujanovic was their lone standout with 16 points.

Japan’s Larry Ik Evbade-Dan praised the supportive crowd, saying, “It felt great to play in such a kind environment. We’re thankful for the fans.”

Slovenia’s Dejan Vincic vowed to regroup: “We’ll go home, learn, and fight for a spot in the Finals.”
