Brazil closed their pool stage in style at the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship, sweeping Puerto Rico 3-0 (25-19, 25-13, 25-18) in Chiang Mai.
With earlier wins over Greece and France, the world’s No. 2 team head to Bangkok for the Round of 16 unbeaten and full of confidence. Júlia Kudiess shined with 14 points, while Diana Alecrim and Júlia Bergmann added key contributions as Brazil’s blocking game overwhelmed Puerto Rico.
“I’m proud of how we played,” Bergmann said. “We stayed strong in every match, and our energy on the court was amazing.”
Puerto Rico, winless in the tournament, still took positives from their campaign. Opposite Decelise Champion reflected: “It was tough, but we learned a lot as a team. We’ll come back better.”
Brazil now await their next opponent from Pool F (China or Dominican Republic) in Sunday’s knockout clash.
