Czechia wrapped up the opening week of the Volleyball Nations League in dominant fashion, defeating Thailand in straight sets to secure a third win from four matches.
Monika Brancuská paced the Czech attack with 14 points, while Magdaléna Jehlářová added 12. The victory lifted the Czechs to nine points in the VNL standings and further boosted their rise in the world rankings, where they currently sit 13th.
The result capped an impressive opening campaign for head coach Giannis Athanasopoulos’ side, which recorded three of their four victories.
Result: Czechia bt. Thailand 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-11).
