Slovenia made a winning start to the home stage of the Volleyball Nations League by defeating Canada 3-1 after a competitive four-set battle at Arena Stožice in Ljubljana.

Backed by a vocal home crowd, Slovenia recovered from losing the second set to take command of the match. The hosts turned the momentum in the third set with a strong serving display before keeping their composure in a tightly contested fourth to secure victory.
Opposite Tonček Štern finished as Slovenia’s leading scorer with 24 points, while Nik Mujanović added 18 and Alen Pajenk contributed 11. Brodie Hofer with 18 points was the top scorer of Canada.
Result: Slovenia def. Canada 3-1 (25-23, 23-25, 25-20, 25-23).
