Slovenia battled back from the brink to defeat Bulgaria 3-2 in a gripping Volleyball Nations League clash, extending winning streak at the home tournament in Ljubljana.

The hosts twice found themselves trailing against the reigning world silver medalists but responded with a resilient performance, edging the fourth set before overwhelming Bulgaria 15-6 in the decisive fifth.

Nik Mujanovic led the Slovenian attack with 17 points, while Rok Mozic contributed 15 and Toncek Stern added 13. Bulgaria’s Aleksandar Nikolov finished as the match’s top scorer with 28 points.

Earlier, Ukraine recorded an impressive 3-0 victory over world champions Italy to climb up the Volleyball Nations League standings.
