Besides Cuban Yoandy Leal, who is now allowed to compete with Brazilian National Team, the FIVB closed cases of 13 more volleyball players who requested the change of sports nationality. Interestingly, two requests of the same weight as Leal’s were not approved at this meeting – Wilfredo León’s from Cuban to Polish sports nationality and Leonel Marshall’s from Cuban to Italian. Both will still have to wait for their turn…

All players whose requests for change of sports nationality were apporoved at FIVB’s meeting in Marrakesh and who already wore jersey of the national team of a country of origin will have to wait two years to play with the new national team:

– Sonja Perčan (CRO to ITA)

– Yuriy Tyutin (RUS to KAZ)

– Caique Oswaldo Ferreira da Silva (BRA to POR)

– Indonésia Faria Menezes dos Santos (BRA to POR)
