WL 2017: Russia outplayed Poland in front of 8500 spectators

In the first match of World League 2017 in front of domestic spectators in Katowice, Poland suffered defeat after three sets.

Tonight Russian team was stronger and after 94 minutes of play they have crushed Poland  3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-21).

Top scorer of the winning team was Maxim Zhigalov with 16 points followed by Dimitry Volkov 13 points. On the home side Dawid Konarski scored 10 points and Mateusz Bieniek 8.

Interesting, Michal Kubiak played the whole match with score of 5 points while Bartosz Kurek played only the first set and scored 2 points.

World League Group 1, Weekend 3, Day 1:

Iran – USA 0-3 (17-25, 22-25, 28-30)

Poland – Russia 0-3 (22-25, 17-25, 21-25)
